Renee Ilene Sandstrom (born February 15, 1974), an American singer and actress better known by her stage name, Renee Sands. She is best known for appearing as Renee on the 1980s children's television show Kids Incorporated.

Career

Sands was born in Worcester, Massachusetts.

She has also been a member of the vocal trio Wild Orchid, which also included fellow Kids Inc. cast member and her TV sister Stacy Ferguson, a.k.a. Fergie and Stefanie Ridel. She has opened for acts including Wayne Newton, Bob Hope, and Debbie Reynolds and sang backup with other Kids Inc cast members on Martika's hit "Toy Soldiers".[2]

Sands provided the singing voice for Princess Fiona in the movies Shrek and Shrek 2, appearing alongside fellow Kids Inc. cast member Moosie Drier, who did ADR voice work for the films. She was also in Far Far Away Idol and played Young Darlene in California Indian.

Sands sings "Pump it Up", which was used as the theme song on the Crystal Light commercials, according to Kraft Foods, Inc. She sang "Just Like We Dreamed It" with Ruben Martinez as the 15th anniversary theme for Disneyland Paris. She had a role in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock, providing the singing voice for Jasmine Richards' character Margaret "Peggy" Dupree, singing the song "Here I Am". She sang "Love From Afar" on the soundtrack for Just Friends.
